美杜莎美杜莎是希腊神话中的蛇发女妖，她之前是一位很艳丽的美女，由于过度自大和自信就站在了雅典娜的面前高声大喊自己比神都美丽，于是就被变成了蛇发女妖。她长有满头的蛇发，及一对野猪的獠牙，就连脖子上都长满了蛇的鳞片，甚至下身也变成了蛇的样子，（多数是响尾蛇的下身，因为羞辱她所以连下身都变成如此自傲的响尾蛇的下身）于是智慧女神赐予了她一对任何看到她们的人都会立即变成石头的双眼。 美杜莎本是个美貌的女子（有传言是波塞冬的孩子），一种传说是雅典娜嫉妒她的秀发，更为广泛流传的传说是波塞冬被美杜莎的美貌所吸引把她在雅典娜的神庙里给强奸了，而这激怒了雅典娜。雅典娜不能惩罚波塞冬，于是便把美杜莎变成了可怕的蛇发。 在希腊神话中美杜莎原本是凡身。据说美杜莎曾经是一位美丽的少女，而且傲慢虽为海神波塞冬所爱，但却在智慧女神的神庙里说比女神还要美丽。雅典娜被激怒了，她施展法术，把美杜莎的那头秀发变成了无数毒蛇。美女因此成了妖怪。更可怕的是，她的两眼闪着骇人的光，任何人哪怕只看她一眼，也会立刻变成毫无生气的一块大石头。 宙斯之子珀尔修斯知道这个秘密，因此背过脸去，用光亮的盾牌作镜子，找出美杜莎，在雅典娜和赫耳墨斯的帮助下割下了她的头。从美杜莎的躯体里跳出双翼飞马珀伽索斯和巨人克律萨俄耳，他们都是美杜莎的后代。珀尔修斯骑着从美杜莎鲜血中飞出的珀伽索斯，在空中遇到狂风的袭击，被吹得左右摇晃，从美杜莎的头颅上滴下的鲜血落到利比亚沙漠中，成为毒蛇。美杜莎的血液虽然剧毒，却拥有特殊的力量，曾赋予埃里克特翁尼亚斯以起死回生的能力。珀尔修斯用割下的美杜莎的头颅杀死了海怪塞特斯，回去后把头颅交给雅典娜，雅典娜把它固定在自己的盾牌、胸甲中央。 美杜莎的头像常被艺术家用在象征性的徽章、建筑的装饰物甚至雅典的钱币上，也曾用于士兵的盾牌上。传说一： 记得有个关于美杜莎传说。 一位美丽的姑娘，有着一头绿色的长发，宝石蓝般的眼睛。 她出生在希腊，和她的爱人一起在海上航行。她觉得自己非常的幸福。 可是不幸的黑暗很快的降临了，一群海盗登上了他们的船只。为求自保的男人把她出卖给了海盗。 痛苦，悲伤，愤怒，绝望。她在侮辱中诅咒着自己，诅咒出卖他的爱人，诅咒着侮辱她的海盗，诅咒给她带来不幸的大海，诅咒着无情的看着一切的神。 美杜莎雕塑 她的头发开始变长，长出利齿，形成了蛇头。她的双眼已经没有了眼珠，看过她眼睛的人都变成了石头。她要那些可恶的男人永远不得转生。 仇恨充斥了她整个心，她已经忘记了世上的温暖。她放纵自己不放过任何一个接近她的人。人们开始惧怕她。使她与这个世界越来越远。 神静静的看着一切，看着这个受了伤的女人。神在说：平静吧，不要再让仇恨充满你的心了。别再让自己堕落。 传说二(希腊传说最完全的版本，包含最多星座的神话故事)： 仙王座(Cepheus)、仙后座(Cassiopeia)、仙女座(Andromeda)、英仙座(Perseus)、飞马座(Pegasus)和鲸鱼座(Cetus) 希腊半岛西部有座城叫阿戈斯城(Argos)，国王亚克里修斯(Acrisius)有个非常美丽可爱的公主叫达娜(Danae)，亚克里修斯十分疼爱这个女儿，但太阳神的特耳菲神庙(Delphi)的神谕告诉亚克里修斯，他将会死在自己的孙子手里。为了不让女儿有机会结识男子，于是他建造了一座青铜打造而成的高塔，将达娜关在里面，不准任何人接近。生性风流的宙斯(Zeus)见到如此美色当然不会放过。他化作一道金雨，从铜塔唯一的窗洒进里面，与达娜见面。 十个月之后，达娜生下了一个健康活泼的男孩子，取名为柏修斯(Perseus)，意思即”金光闪闪”。亚克里修斯听到这事之后，本来打算杀了他们，但是杀死亲人会遭天遣，复仇女神Erinyes会穷追不舍，而且他也不忍心下手，所以亚克里修斯决定将达娜母子关在一个木箱之中，丢入海中让他们自生自灭。 木箱随着海水漂流到一个叫塞浦路斯(Seriphus)的岛上，被该岛国王的弟弟迪克提斯(Dictys)救起，他非常喜欢柏修斯，更收他为养子，将他养育成人。十八年后柏修斯长大了，变成一个俊美勇敢的金发少年。迪克提斯的哥哥波利得特克斯(Polydectes)一早便看上了达娜，更想娶她为妻，但她以抚养柏修斯为理由坚拒他，所以他一直视柏修斯为眼中钉。 在一次生日宴会上，波利得特克斯大宴皇室贵族，他刻意邀请柏修斯赴宴，找机会奚落他。柏修斯没有带任何礼物来，便说只要国王开口，甚么东西他也可以带回来送给国王作礼物。波利得特克斯便刻意地说要蛇发女妖美杜莎(Medusa)的头颅。年轻好胜的柏修斯完全不知道美杜莎的事，但他心想试冒这个险，便一口答应了波利得特克斯，其实波利得特克斯是想借此机会让柏修斯回不了来，让他死在蛇发女妖之下。柏修斯怕母亲担心，所以不辞而别，独自去找寻传说中的蛇发女妖。 蛇发女妖美杜莎本来是个美丽的少女，她还有两个有着神仙血统的姊姊，她是三位蛇发女妖中唯一的凡身，传说中有着致命诱惑的眼神，居住在遥远的西方，是另一个名不见经传的海神福耳库斯的女儿。海神波赛顿(Poseidon)受到诱惑，化身成骏马与她偷情，为了逃避海神之后安菲屈蒂的嫉妒，而躲在阿西娜(Athena)的神殿中交合，此举触怒了阿西娜，盛怒下的阿西娜并迁怒于她的两个姐姐，所以将三姊妹都变为妖怪。（另一说法是：美杜莎曾经是一位美丽的少女，因吹嘘自己比阿西娜长得漂亮而被这位智慧女神夺去了她的所有美丽，只留给她一个丑陋的妖怪之躯。）她们全身长满金色的鳞片，背上长着鹰的翅膀，美杜莎的背上则长着天鹅的翅膀，头上没有头发，只有盘挠扭动的蛇，但仍然难于掩盖她的美丽，只要有人看过她（们）的眼睛，都会被她的美丽和魔力吸引而失去灵魂变成一尊石像。人们称她们为Gorg(音义：高哥或戈耳工)，没有人知道她们住在哪里。 当柏修斯准备出发去找蛇发女妖时，海边有个友善的老渔夫说帮助他，并借给他几件宝物，原来这个老渔夫是阿西娜的化身。她借给柏修斯的宝物是：神使汉密斯 (Hermes)一双可以飞天的鞋、冥神黑帝斯(Hades)戴上便可以隐身的帽子、一只能随意伸缩、任何猛兽都咬不穿的皮袋，和一把削铁如泥的钻石宝剑，阿西娜还把自己的盾牌借给他。女神指示他要打败高哥必须找到三位灰娘(The Grey Women)。 灰娘是高哥的姊妹，住在大海西边的尽头，她们一生下来就很老，三个人轮流共享一只眼睛和一颗牙齿，只有她们知道高哥在哪里和打败高哥的方法。柏修斯来到灰娘的住处躲起来，趁着其中一个人将眼睛取下来交给另一个人时，将眼睛抢过来。柏修斯威胁如果她们不告诉他打败高哥的方法，便将眼睛踏碎。迫于无奈，灰娘只好告诉柏修斯。 柏修斯跟着灰娘的指示，来到高哥栖息的岛屿。他利用阿西娜的盾牌，映照出高哥三姊妹的正确位置，并趁着三人熟睡之际，慢慢退至美杜莎的身边，用宝剑一刀砍下她的头颅，将头颅装在皮袋之中。这时另外两位高哥醒过来，见到妹妹惨死，想找寻杀死她的凶手柏修斯，可惜柏修斯戴上隐身帽，穿上飞天鞋，两位高哥看不到他，而他也带着美杜莎的头颅顺利地离开了。在美杜莎的脖子流出的血，突然冒出烟幕来，一匹有翅膀的飞马飞了出来，这便是飞马座的飞马佩加索斯 (Pegasus)，巨人克律萨俄耳在柏修斯离开后也走了出来，他们都是波塞冬的后代。 柏修斯带着装有美杜莎头颅的皮袋，骑着佩加索斯回去，途中经过衣索匹亚(Ethiopia)的海岸边时，见到有一个美丽的女子全身赤裸，被人用铁练绑在悬岸边，样子十分可怜。柏修斯于是走过去问个究竟。原来她是这个国家的公主，叫安德罗美达(Andromeda)，她的母后爱慕虚荣，又爱以美貌自负，曾向人夸耀自己比海中的仙女奈莉得(Nereid)更美丽，不准百姓参拜海中仙女而要参拜她，因此得罪了海神波赛顿，海神引发大海啸来淹没国家的土地，破坏人民的房屋，唯一的办法只有将女儿安德罗美达献给海怪作为食物，不则将会有更大的灾难降临到衣索匹亚。 柏修斯知道整件事情后，便义不容辞地答应会为她打败海怪，救她离开这里的。海上忽然传来隆隆巨响，波涛倏地分开，一只全身漆黑，头有独角，且有三叉戟形状的尾巴的大海怪以极快的速度往他们处身的悬岸冲过来。柏修斯穿起飞天鞋，拿着削铁如泥的宝剑，跳到空中攻击海怪。他用剑刺伤了海怪，之后在皮袋中取出美杜莎的头颅，将海怪变成石头(鲸鱼座就是指这只海怪)。柏修斯带着安德罗美达回到衣索匹亚的皇宫，国王西裴斯(Cepheus)和王后卡西奥佩亚(Cassiopeia)热烈地迎接他们，两人十分感激柏修斯救回他们的爱女，并决定将女儿嫁给柏修斯，其实他们一早便互相倾慕对方的，即使国王不提出，柏修斯也会要求娶安德罗美达为妻。 美杜莎的传说 他们在衣索匹亚举办盛大的婚礼当日，安德罗美达本来的未婚夫比纽斯(Phineus)率领着军队前来捣乱，不满国王违反婚约。但国王西裴斯说：「在未婚妻有难的时候，你只会躲在安全的地方，反而英勇的柏修斯却奋不顾身地救了她，他才是真正关心安德罗美达的人，你根本没有资格做她的未婚夫!」然而比纽斯已经怒不可遏，他下令军队攻击柏修斯，要将他置诸死地。柏修斯一个当然不能抵抗整支军队，于是他高声喊着：「是我的朋友就不要看!」说着便拿出美杜莎的头颅，将所有的敌人都变成了石头。仙女座就是指美丽的公主安德罗美达用铁链被绑在岩石上准备献祭给海怪的形象，而仙王座是指国王西裴斯，仙后座则是王后卡西奥佩亚。 柏修斯与安德罗美达顺利地结为夫妻后，他带着新婚妻子回到塞浦路斯。知道国王波利得特克斯向母亲达娜迫婚，她不答应，于是便将她囚禁起来。柏修斯十分气愤，立刻到王宫找波利得特克斯。波利得特克斯这时正在和大臣们饮宴，见到柏修斯完好无缺地回来，马上露出不悦的神色，他说柏修斯根本没有杀到美杜莎，只是吓得逃回来而已。柏修斯打开了皮袋，说：「如果你们不相信，便用双眼看清楚吧!」他高举美杜莎的头颅，把所有人变成石头。人民本想拥立柏修斯为王，但他想回去祖国阿戈斯城，于是便将王位让给他的养父迪克提斯，自己则带着母亲和妻子回去。阿戈斯城的国王亚克里修斯知道自己的孙儿成为了大名鼎鼎的英雄，心中非常害怕，他离开了阿戈斯城躲起来。 柏修斯坐船回去，不料狂风使他们偏离航线，到了阿戈斯城的邻国特撒利(Thessaly)，当地正好举行大型竞技会，柏修斯兴致勃勃的参加了。当他掷铁饼时，因为太大力，铁饼竟掷歪了，落到观众席上，并砸死一个老人，原来这个老人就是阿戈斯城的国王亚克里修斯，他本来想到这里躲避的，不料却这样死在自己孙儿的手上。神谕最终还是应验了。 柏修斯左手提着美杜莎的头颅(就是大陵五)，右手举着宝剑，脚上穿着飞天鞋的样子，被于在天上，成为英仙座。 （注：衣索匹亚并非是现今的埃塞俄比亚(Ethiopia)，而是当初位于非洲北海岸的一个王朝）。 戈耳工的血液虽然剧毒，却拥有特殊的力量，曾赋予埃里克特翁尼亚斯（见Erichthonius）以起死回生的能力。珀尔修斯用割下的美杜莎的头颅杀死了海怪塞特斯（见Cetus），回去后把头颅交给阿西娜，阿西娜把它固定在自己的盾牌/胸甲中央。戈耳工三姐妹的头像常被艺术家用在象征性的徽章、建筑的装饰物甚至雅典的钱币上，也曾用于士兵的盾牌上。 在希腊传说中“戈耳贡”是容貌极为相似的蛇女三姊妹的统称，包括丝西娜 Stheno（远眺）、尤瑞艾莉 Euryale（力量） 、梅杜莎 Medusa（皇后）。在蛇发女妖三姐妹中，只有美杜莎是凡身，她的姐姐丝西娜和尤瑞艾莉都是魔身。柏修斯收拾的就是年纪最小的妹妹梅杜莎，而其他两位姊姊因为拥有不死之躯的超能力，所以无论柏修斯砍杀多少次，她们绝不会丧命，最后柏修斯只好放弃赶快逃走了。珀尔修斯躲避美杜莎两个姐姐的追杀时，在空中遇到狂风的袭击，被吹得左右摇晃，从美杜莎的头颅上滴下的鲜血落到利比亚沙漠中，成为毒蛇。
