Intel在2017年时推出了Xeon W系列处理器，取代当时的Xeon E5-1600系列，定位为主流的单路工作站处理器。在当时其最高核心数为18核，全都支持4通道DDR4-2666内存，最大支持512GB的DDR4 ECC，提供48条PCIe通道。在近日Intel更新了Xeon W系列处理器，将最高核心数提高到了28核，同时还支持64条PCIe通道等新特性。 图片来自Intel 新一代的Intel Xeon W-32xx系列处理器的核心规模从8核心到28核心，全都支持6通道内存，最大都支持1TB的DDR4 ECC，但内存频率有所区别，两款8核心的处理器只支持到DDR4-2666，而12核以上的处理器支持DDR4-2933，在内存通道数方面相比前代4通道有提升，同时12核以上的处理器内存频率也提升了，所以在内存性能上有所提升。除此之外Intel提供的三款Xeon W-32xxM型处理器最大支持的内存容量提升到2TB，单条128GB的内存插满12条也达不到处理器支持上限。同时新一代的Xeon W系列处理器的PCIe通道数也从前代的48条提升到64条，这样就可以支持更多的PCIe设备了。不过遗憾的是新款的处理器不支持傲腾DC持久内存。 在处理器频率方面这一代Xeon W系列处理器也有改进。在去年Intel推出了28核心的Xeon W-3175X处理器，基础频率为3.1GHz，最大睿频为3.8GHz，而这一代Xeon W-3275以及Xeon W-3275M的基础频率都为2.5GHz，最大睿频达到了4.4GHz，睿频加速Max 3.0频率为4.6GHz，睿频比上代更高。同时TDP有所下降，Xeon W-3175X TDP为255W，而Xeon W-3275以及Xeon W-3275M降低到205W。 新一代的Xeon W系列处理器在各方面都有所提升，在PCIe通道数也追平了AMD的第二代线程撕裂者，同时如Xeon W-3275M这样的产品最大支持的内存容量也达到了2TB，足以满足专业用户需求。而从这一代Xeon W处理器规格上就可以看出，在昨天凌晨苹果发布的Mac Pro电脑中应该就使用的是这几款处理器，而支持的大容量内存以及很多的PCIe扩展设备也突出了处理器的新特性。Intel已经公布了部分新处理器的售价，Xeon W-3275M客户建议售价为7453美元，感兴趣的朋友可以关注一下，可以试试组一台自己的Mac Pro。
