America discovered by columbus is not accepted by all"
America is not accepted by all.
(The fact that) America is discovered by Columbus is not accepted by all.

Researchers who study relationships have discovered that a b
Researchers who study relationships have discovered that a big difference between those who make new friends easily, and those who don’t, is that socially successful people tend to make eye contact with their conversation partners much more frequently than those who are less successful socially. In fact, you may be able to become much more socially successful by making this one simple change to your behavior.
Most Americans prefer to have a lot of eye contact when they are talking with someone. When a person doesn’t make eye contact with them, they tend to think that the person is hiding something or the person doesn’t believe in himself/herself.
When you are having a conversation and you want to leave a friendly impression, be sure to keep looking at that person frequently while you are talking. If it really bothers you to look directly into another person’s eyes, you can gaze generally at, not above, the eyebrow area or the bridge of the nose; this is close enough to the eye region that you will appear to be looking at the person’s eyes. But neither the hair or the shoulders have the same effect. Don’t stare at other people too intensely, otherwise, you will look aggressive(攻击性).
Keep the majority of your focus on the other person. If you glance around the room too much, or look too frequently at other people, your conversation partner may guess that you are looking around for someone else you would rather talk with.
You can lighten your nervousness by smiling more often, nodding, and by gazing at the entire face as well as the eyes. In addition, you can frequently look away for very short periods.
When people get the sense that you are really paying attention to them, they will be much more likely to want to have conversations with you!
小题1:Which of the following is NOT the impression left by those who don’t make eye contact during the talk?
A.They are not telling the truth. B.They are bored with the partner.
C.They are lacking in confidence D.They are angry and ready to attack.
小题2: Besides the eyes of the partner, during the talk, you can look at his/her ___________.
A.hair B.shoulders C.the bridge of the nose D.area above the eyebrows
小题3: From the passage, we can learn that ____________________.
A.looking away during conversation should always be avoided.
B.looking at a person frequently can give him/her a good impression.
C.many Americans feel like being stared at for a long time.
D.all successful people are good at making eye contact.
小题4:What would be the best title for the passage?
A.How to make yourself socially successful

Anthropologists have discovered that fear,happiness,sadness
Anthropologists have discovered that fear, happiness, sadness and surprise are universally reflected in facial expressions.
4、翻译一下universally reflected in facial expressions这部分.

Anthropologists have discovered that fear, happiness, sadness and surprise are universally reflected in facial expressions.
Anthropologists have discovered (that)that reflected in facial expressions. 就是that后面的同谓语fear,happiness,sadness and surprise are universally .
i find it difficult to finish it on time.

discover是动词,动词后面个名词或从句,跟从句时应注意”I discovered“是个句子,而且the most important requirement was to speak English well.也是个句子,也就是一个句号连俩个句子,所以要用that 引导形成从句; 句子the most important requirement was to speak English well.中,the most important requirement是主语,to do 不定时引导的to speak English well作宾语,所以说不是说为什么要用was to 而是该句中to 和speak English well是一个整体

Health experts have discovered that adding low-calorie veget
Health experts have discovered that adding low-calorie vegetable soup to the start of a meal can actually help to lose weight.
Because you feel full sooner, you eat less of your main course.
The soup regime(养生法)was tested by researchers at Pennsylvania State University, led by Dr Barbara Rolls.
They found that when people ate a first course of soup before lunch they reduced their total calorie intake by 20 per cent, compared with those who did not begin the meal with soup.
But those who favor creamy soups should be careful.Researchers stressed the soup must be low-calorie and based on stock(菜汤), not cream.
All of the soups tested in the study were made from identical ingredients - chicken stock , broccoli(硬花甘蓝), potato, cauliflower(菜花)and carrots.
They were mixed together to create four different textures and thickness from separate stock and vegetables through to pureed soup.
Scientists thought that thick soups with chunks of vegetables which required chewing might be more filling, but to their surprise they found all forms had the same effect.
The findings were presented to the Experimental Biology conference in Washington, DC, and the research was part-funded by the National Institutes of Health.
小题1: What’s the reason that adding low-calorie vegetable soup to the start of a meal can actually help to lose weight?
A.You can take in large quantities of vegetables.
B.You can absorb high calories from the soup.
C.You can take in low calories from the soup.
D.You can feel full soon after having the soup.
小题2: Which of the following can not be in the low-calorie soup?

小题3: What is the best title of this passage?
A.Vegetable Soup Helps to Lose Weight.
B.A Scientific Research is Carrying out.
C.A Research Done at Pennsylvania State University
D.Findings Carried out to the Experimental Biology.

What I have seen is what I have got. What have I seen is what have I got肯定错了.
So what has neuropsychology discovered about that thing 【popular culture claims drives you insane, tends to be blind and can leave you as enslaved as a coke addict】?

选C,that引导同位语从句只起连接作用不充当成分.this wood=the supply of white pine is becoming smaller and smaller.

The fact that ____ was discovered in 1923 by the astronomer Edwin Hubble.
A) the expansion of the universe
B) the universe is expanding
C) the universe,which is expanding
D) when the universe expands

先把同位语放在一边不看,整个句子就是the fact was discovered in 1923 by the astronomer Edwin Hubble. 就是the universe is expanding 这个事实.

1.when we ___A______,we discovered that the manager had reserved the wrong room for us.A.arrived B.had arrived
2.By the year 2000,12.4%of the us population had reached the age of 65,although this was lower than in 1990 when it ___A_______ at 12.3%.A.had peaked B.peaked

注:garden(花园)应改成 gardener(花匠,园丁)

Researchers have recently discovered special, beneficial formulations which encourage sensitive marine life to achieve maximum vibrancy, growth and color. The research has proved that one unique formulation of enriched sea salt having higher levels of trace elements than those found in natural seawater-creates the perfect balance for the living corals and other organisms kept in aquariums, especially those kept for long periods of time.

What they discovered first of all was that he was not suffering.

1 用what 是因为句首没有什麼指代.what== something that -------that在这里指代something,所以就不用what了.
2 first of all 是个短语,做插入语,解释为“首先”.
