PowerAMP最值得使用的就是音效方面，对于安卓系统有三大音效，第一是【无效果】（关闭音效），第二是【DolbyMobile】（杜比音效），第三是【SRSEnhancement】（SRS音效），并且自带EQ均衡器，其中包括低音和高音旋钮，而且可以开启【单声道】和开启【立体声】。对于支持杜比音效（即杜比音效认证）的安卓系统手机，可以在开启PowerAMP选择【杜比音效】后，把其中的【低音】旋钮转到最高，可以在原有的低音效果上加深体验享受至尊无上的超重低音效果。对于不支持杜比音效，而支持【Beats】音效的安卓手机，开启PowerAMP后会增加【Beats】音效的选项，但是在这种情况下去选择【杜比】音效，不会有任何作用，和【无效果】一样。但是对于既不支持【DolbyMobile】和【BeatsAudio】以及【SRSEnhancement】三大音效的安卓系统手机，在安装Poweramp软件之后，就无法选择上述的三项顶级音效了。不过仍然可以使用内置的均衡器配合低音高音旋钮来调节音效，也是不错的选择。均衡器左边的是低频，越往右频率越高。希望低频强一些则需要把低频提升一些、高频衰减一些，反之亦然。这种简易的均衡器作用并不大，主要还得看自己的感觉。低音不浑浊、高音不刺耳为好。通常在小音量时人们对中频信号，比如1KHz，感觉更灵敏一些。为了获得等响度的听觉效果，我们需要把中频信号作适当的衰减，把低频（低于1KHz）信号和高频（高于1KHz）的信号作适当的提升。直观上如同一个"V"型，再根据自己的感觉、喜好做调整。
