ACT阅读的难点说明：首先，简要列举一下ACT阅读的基本难点。通常来说，我们认为ACT阅读有三个难点：时间紧，无行号，乱序。(觉得ACT阅读词汇、文法、文章有较大难度的学生，建议先备考托福，达到托福阅读25+分后，再考虑ACT阅读)1、 时间紧：ACT阅读，要求考生在35分钟内，完成4篇文章;每篇文章800-1000词，设置10个题目，共计3200-4000词阅读量，40个题目。平均下来，即每篇文章8.5分钟做题时间，要求完成800-1000词的文章阅读和10个题目。给大家一个直观的参考，就是托福一篇文章800词左右，12-14个题目，20分钟完成。如果用ACT的阅读标准代入，就是要求学生用10分钟时间，完成托福800词一篇的阅读，同时完成10个题目。因此，相对于托福阅读，ACT阅读的文章难度相仿，但时间缩减了一半，或者说，速度提升了一倍!2、 无行号：ACT阅读的另一个难点，就是有50%左右的题目(40个题目中，通常有18-22个题目)，没有给出定位点，需要学生自行寻证解决。这些题目，通常不会很难，但由于学生没有掌握合适的寻证定位方法，经常出现找不到出题点的情况，最终导致错题。3、 乱序：ACT阅读的第三个难点，也是在原有时间紧、无行号基础上，再雪上加霜的一重难度，就是将出题顺序打乱。普通的出题顺序，是首末题为综合题，考察主旨、态度、写作手法等，中间部分为细节题，按段落逐次出题。而ACT阅读，前1-2题为综合题，后面的题目大多为细节题，但打破段落顺序式出题规则，造成乱序，干扰学生的阅读进度和做题速度。三、 ACT阅读考查本质分析：考生眼见ACT阅读的这些难点，产生畏惧心理，我觉得情有可原。毕竟，ACT的阅读和答题速度，是很多ACT考生的梦魇。但如果仅因为一个考试出现难点，就直接退缩，显然不是正解。同时，根据4年来的教学经验和学生案例，我们也确实发现，有两类考生，可以完成ACT阅读所要求的速度和正确率：1、北美或以英语作为第一语言的高中生;2、中国本土学霸;这两种考生，有一个共性特征，就是具备建立在广泛阅读基础上的精准阅读能力——而这也恰恰是ACT阅读的考查本质。换句话说，如果新SAT阅读是建立在语言基础、思维方式和文化底蕴等三维能力考查基础之上的(详见拙文《你和新SAT阅读750+一步之遥》)，那么ACT阅读，由于时间的限制，会刻意地减少对思维方式和文化底蕴的考查，更多以语言基础和精准阅读等二维能力的考查为主。所谓语言基础，分为词汇和语法两方面。词汇，就是大家常说的词汇量要求，ACT阅读以识记为标准，比托福词汇要求略高，通常在8000-10000词，当然还要掌握各种常见的词组和固定搭配(详见拙作《ACT词汇进阶》)。语法，通常意义上，就是长难句的识别和简化，弱化语法知识点(ACT有专门的英文部分考查学生的文法水平)，偏重语法的应用和实操能力。所谓精准阅读，为ACT阅读所独有(新SAT虽然设置了询证题，但出题方式和解题技巧，和ACT阅读差异较大);如前所述，就是每篇文章有50%左右的题目(10个题目中，通常有4-5个题目)，没有给出定位点，需要学生自行寻证解决。而精准阅读的突破口，就是要求学生深度了解ACT阅读的考查重点，熟知笔记式阅读法的要领，通过不少于30套ACT阅读题目的反复练习，逐渐熟悉并掌握ACT精准阅读的能力。
