分类: 教育/科学 >> 外语学习 解析: 中国早已成功推行拼音，但北京大学和清华大学校名的英文却不用拼音的“Beijing”和“Qinghua”，非要用“Peking”和“Tsinghua”。以前中国的人名或地名用旧式拼法，与英文发音比较近，是移船就岸方便洋人。中国人民站起来后采用了全新的拼音，英文中提到中国的人名或地名时，不再怪腔怪调地发音。中国其他大学校名的英文已经改用拼音，西方人也已经改用拼音，但北大、清华不改，以示不同。我知道，北大、清华最讲爱国，最讲民族感情，但在校名的英文这个问题上，见不到两校半点的爱国之情，见不到两校的半点民族感情。可惜，“Peking”英文中也不是什么好词，“Peking”一词后加“ese”，就成了“Pekingese”。英文“Pekingese”是什么意思呢？是“哈巴狗”的意思。当然，“哈吧狗”并不等于爬儿狗，也不等于鲁迅笔下的“资本家的乏走狗。”北大有那么多的教授名流，有那么多跨世纪人才，为什么没有人指出来呢？这是名校的一个谜，一个悬念。吾人骨子里是霸气、匪气和俗气。裤子的拉链没有拉上，却还左顾右盼，到处乱跑，到处向丽人乱献殷勤。
