There is no “best” way to learn a language, because everyone learns slightly differently. However, some methods appear to be more effective than others, and placing a heavier weight on them in an educational program may help a student to succeed. The desire to learn a language is quite admirable, and fortunately many support systems to teach languages to new learners exist around the world. The most important thing to remember is that learning a language can be frustrating at first, but it is worth the effort. Iu2019ve been learning English for a long time, and I always studying hard and my examination results were well enough when I was in high school, but someday I went to University, I realized how poor my English is. I know many grammars, words and phrases, sentences even can recite many texts, but when I meet my foreign teacher, I didn"t know what to say, and how to express myself, so I ran away quickly, it was ashamed for me. After this when some people ask me what I am majoring in, I just daren"t tell the truth and tell them that my major is Chinese language. But I can"t be like this, because I am learning English, it is a language, it is full of energy, but I make it silent and meaningless. Then I tried many ways to find a best way that fit me. However, only recently that I"ve finally figured out the way that works efficient for me. Perhaps it is not best but whatever suitable is more important. Then I"d like to share my experience of learning English with you. Perhaps it can inspire you some ideas.
In my point of view the best way to learn a language is to live in a country where they speak the language that you are learning for 6 months or a year. By being forced to use the language to communicate needs, people can pick up the basics surprisingly quickly. Just like Lenin he thought he had learn English language very well, he even translated some books from English into Russian, but when he was in London, he could not understand what the native speakers say, of course nobody understand him too. thing that full of energy and he made it alive. It sounds funny but it is the truth, environment is very important to learn a language. It will lead you to another learning journey in which you will know more. During this period, you can arm yourself with more knowledge and make good preparation for the future. You are still young. Just as Samuel says: “Youth is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.” Making fullest use of this period will do great favor to you. All these make it clear that taking full advantage of further study may guarantee that your future is no longer a dream and university is a place where all things are possible. I want to tell you “Though the road ahead will be long and our climb of further study will be steep, I bet doing further study is wiser and you would not regret.” Unfortunately, thatu2019s not always practical. Going abroad builds on the basic of large mounts of money. Not everyone who is majoring in English have enough money to go abroad. Then I think that students can learn a language through conventional classes, although classes which meet more frequently are more effective. Most universities and schools offer language programs, some of which are open to members of the community as well as registered students. Students who want to learn a language may also want to look into private classes, or tutoring with a native speaker. These classes require much more work outside of class, and interacting with native speakers is an excellent supplement to a language class. It"s pretty crucial that when students are learning a language, you are able to hear what a native speaker of that language sounds like. So a native speaker can help a student expand vocabulary, improve pronunciation, and learn how to use words and idioms properly. In addition to that I recommend starting with audio CDs or tape sets all the way through, only then begin to repeat after the native speaker. Listening to these tapes forty minutes a day five or six times a week is much more effective than listening for a long time once a week. As these are more likely to keep the vocabulary simple, and expressions short. After mastering the shorter programs, more complex ones may be used. Another feature to look for, are tapes that give the word or expression once in Chinese and at least twice in English (or language you are learning). The voice in the target language needs to be that of a native speaker.

If you want to know whether your pronunciation is correct or not. Just record yourself .perhaps nobody likes to hear their own voice on tapes but like tests, it is good to compare your tapes with the origin voice from time to time. Then you will know the different .You may be so impressed with the mistakes you are making that you will not make it anymore, perhaps at firs it is easy to get discouraged. Even after a few weeks you will find that your brain begins to associate words in Chinese with their English signification. Soon you will even have dreams where you use your limited vocabulary. Or, a foreign word will come into your mind along with its meaning. Just say English as much as possible. The very worst approach in learning a new language is to use a phrase book, where a word"s phonetic pronunciation is given (transliterated) based on a language other than the target language being learned. Languages learning by imitation and reinforcement, in this operation learners of language imitate the environment around them, and by practice what they hear constantly, they achieve habits in that language. Language has life, it is flexible it is full of energy, donu2019t completely according to the book. So just keep talking in English, open your mouth using English as much as possible.
But the biggest problem most people face in learning a new language is their own fear. Just the same with me. Once I worried that I wonu2019t say things correctly and people will think I am stupid so I donu2019t talk at all. Then I realized how stupid I was, absolutely it is wrong, we are students we accept education just because we need to learn something new something we don"t know something we can"t do, it is so normal that we can"t do something. When someone stands on the platform speaking English I will admire her very much although she probably makes some mistakes but she courage is most important she stand there is already success. Instead why they donu2019t think so when I am speaking think so .Now we can"t speak is acceptable, but it is unacceptable you can"t say English forever. So my dear friends donu2019t afraid of making mistakes don"t afraid of losing face. Do it again and again until you get it right. Like anything, learning English requires practice. Donu2019t let a little fear stop you from getting what you want. Error is your rights; learning is your obligation, whenever it is never give up your rights and obligations.

We all have some time really tired of learning English. then the easy and fun way to learn English is watching English films televisions Listening to English music, it is also very effective .By watching English films (especially those with English subtitles) you can catch body language and facial expressions and can capture the context of what is being said a little better and expand your vocabulary and hear the flow of speech from the actors. If you listen to the news you can also hear different accents when I am listening news I would listen to a broadcast to see how many words I could pick up. If I could pick up one word in ten, I was pleased. As to music, in fact, it is often used as a way of improving comprehension. The best way to learn though is to get the lyrics (words) to the songs you are listening to and try to read them as the artist sings. There are several good internet sites where one can find the words for most songs. This way you can practice your listening and reading at the same time. And if you like to sing, fine. Study as often as possible! Just carry on then you can really improve your knowledge of any language.
In a world my suggestion is that speaking English whenever possible and never afraid of losing face. The aim of learning English is communicate with others, finding new ways to express ourselves. of course we will make mistakes, then what will happen, if we can"t make other people understand us, we can be succeed just believed that human beings are born with the ability to learn language as they born with the ability to learn anything refer to the innate, like walking or the desire to eat. Find a way of learning English that fits you most and carry on it then improve your oral English. Always remember that perhaps you will make some grammar mistakes, who cares you can make other people understand that is the most important, and then you can communicate with others more smoothly.

Learning English
Learning English is by no means

2. Watch out for
idiomatic ways of saying things. Have you ever wondered why we say, “I
am interested in English”, but “I am good at French”? And have you ever asked
yourself why native English speakers say, “learn the news or secret”, but “learn
of someone"s success or arrival”? These are all examples of idiomatic usage. In
learning English, you must pay attention not only to the meaning of a word, but
also to the way native speakers use it in their daily lives.

Listen to English every day. Listening to English on a regular basis
will not only improve your ear, but will also help you build your speaking
skills. In addition to language tapes especially prepared for your course, you
can also listen to English radio broadcasts, watch English TV, and see English
movies. The first time you listen to a taped conversation or passage in English,
you may not be able to catch a great deal. Try to get its general meaning first
and listen to it over and over again. You will find that with each repetition

4. Seize opportunities to
speak. It is true that there are few situations at school where you
have to communicate in English, but you can seek out opportunities to practice
speaking the language. Talking with your classmates, for example, can be an easy
and enjoyable way to get some practice. Also try to find native speakers on your
campus and feel free to talk with them. Perhaps the easiest way to practice
speaking is to rehearse aloud, since this can be done at any time, in any place,
and without a partner.
For instance, you can look at
pictures or objects around you and try to describe them in detail. You can also
rehearse everyday situations. After you have made a purchase in a shop or
finished a meal in a restaurant and paid the check, pretend that all this
happened in an English-speaking country and try to act it out in English.
5. Read widely.
It is important to read widely because in our learning environment,
reading is the main and most reliable source of language input. When you choose
reading materials, look for things that you find interesting, that you can
understand without relying too much on a dictionary. A page a day is a good way
to start. As you go on, you will find that you can do more pages a day and
handle materials at a higher level of difficulty.
6. Write
regularly. Writing is a good way to practice what you already know.
Apart from compositions assigned by your teacher, you may find your own reasons
for writing. A pen pal provides good motivation; you will learn a lot by trying
to communicate with someone who shares your interests, but comes from a
different culture. Other ways to write regularly include keeping a diary,
writing a short story and summarizing the daily news.
Language learning is a process of
accumulation. It pays to absorb as much as you can from reading and listening
and then try to put what you have learned into practice through speaking and
writing.
