School kids need more sleep and playtime
正文：For 13-year-old Luo Xing,the most difficult thing in life is getting up at 5:50 am every school day.
"I don't want to get up so early,”the Junior 1 middle school student in Shanghai said."I want more sleep."
But,like it or not,Luo has breakfast at 6:15 am,leaves home at 6:30 am and,after a 30-minute bus ride,he arrives at school at 7 am.
Like most of his 40 classmates,Luo arrives at school a full hour before lessons start at 8 am.
A study of 2500 schoolchildren in six cities,including Beijing and Shanghai,showed that about 66% of primary school students and 77% of middle school students were short of sleep.
Some parents also say,"In China,young mothers and fathers have little time to play with their children.Parents are busy with their work and kids are busy with their study.That's not good for kid's growth.Kids need more time to have fun with their parents,not just to study."
To solve this problem,some cities cut their school hours to give children more time to play.Some middle school students now go to school 30 minutes later than they did before.
"The best way for children to learn is through play.When pupils get more playtime,they can be relaxed and learn how to get along with other people,”said a school head.
