I left home young and not till old do I come back,My accent is unchanged,my hair no longer black.The chldren don't know me,whom i meet on the way,"where d'you come from,reverend Sir?" they smile and say.
What shall I stll wait for,thus left in the cold?
Every day vainly I return to my threshold!
I desire to find a secluded place to live,
But thinking of parting with you makes me grieve.
Who among those lords will likly lend me a hand?
It's hard to gain in the world an intimate friend!
