求问as told的用法，as和told中间是否省略了一个they？

as told属于带连词的过去分词
其中as是代词（关系代词）told是过去分词
History of The Beatles as told by their hair这不是句子 而是一个名词短语，
其中as是代词代替History of The Beatles
told by their hair是过去分词短语修饰as
整个as told by their hair是定语修饰History of The Beatles
句子字面意思 正如被他们的发型所说的 披头士的历史
原as told by their hair相当于一个定语从句
=as is told by their hai

什么意思as told as their hair？
as told 是代表被告诉。。。
例子: She has done her job as told. （她照他的话去做了）
中间不一定要加they。要看你的句子。
应该是这样吧。。。
