The Best Cake
The eldest mouse brother said, 'Today is mother's birthday. Let's buy her a cake to make her happy.'
'Yea. Yea', agreed his two younger mice brothers.
Gradually, they managed to gather a small pile of coins.
In the shop, the eldest mouse asked, 'We want a most tasty cake.'
The sales clerk counted their coins and said, 'well, there are not enough coins. But I can sell you a big pancake.'
Then, the kind sales clerk gave them a pretty nice pancake.
The mouse brothers went home in low spirits.
'Alas...' Sighed the youngest mouse.
'Alas...' Sighed the second younger mouse.
The eldest mouse tapped his head and said, 'Let's try turn the pancake into a real cake!'
'How to turn? How to turn?' The two younger mice's eyes widened.
The eldest mouse took out his bonbon which he treasured too much to eat and melted it and thus poured it onto the pancake.
Oh, how nice, here came a sweet smell of milk cream.
The second younger mouse thought for a while and then took out a big piece of red sausage. He gently put it on the pancake and said with a little embarrassment, 'well, I have just bitten a little bit.'
'Mum would not notice it', said the eldest mouse surely.
The youngest mouse picked a bunch of colorful wild flowers and carefully placed on the pancake one by one.
Oh, see. It was no more like a pancake. The three mice were very satisfied and getting happier and happier.
Gently pushing open their mother's door, sang the three mice,'Happy birthday to you...'
'Oh, where does this cake come from?'Asked the mother surprisingly.
'We made it!'Said the eldest mouse.
'Try it! Try it!' cried the two younger mice.
The mother tried a small bite and then she understood.
'Oh, good, good. This is the best cake I've ever eaten.'smiled the mother happily.
'Is it?'The three little mice smiled happily also.
