　　很多同学在雅思的task 2下很大功夫，可是却忘记在task1的小作文也对自己的成绩有影响。虽然其分数比例只有三分之一，可是提分也是它，向下拉分也是它。而且一个7分以上的小作文其实很容易达到，所以非常重要。那么怎么才能写篇高质量的的小作文呢？第一步：审题。很多同学在这一步和大作文犯的毛病一样，提笔就写，完全不管题的要求是什么。现在A类写作，除流程图外，基本所有题目都要求你对数据进行选择和有效的比较。换句话说就是选择有特征的数据（比如最大值最小值），然后将他们拿来比较。 第二步：找趋势，找特征。Task1的图表基本分为有时间和没有时间两种。有时间的就有趋势，是上升还是下降，要写清楚。没有时间的就是找特征数值。 第三步：确定结构。较高质量的小作文应为四段。第一段Intro， 第二段 overview， 第三段 body 1， 第四段body 2。当然第二段的内容也可以放在后面作为summary来写，不过个人不建议这样。而且铁律是overview和summary只能有一个，不能两个都写。 第四步：动笔写。 那各个部分具体来说是什么呢？ Intro：这部分就是告诉读者你的这篇essay要干什么。图表说的是什么事儿。比如说The bar chart and line graph reveals data on the consumption amount of fish, meat, lamb, and beef, in 2009. Overview: 这一步是说图表的总体趋势和明显特征。比如说It is clear that the domestic usage of water used in England climbed during the four month, whereas agricultural and industry water consumption reduced at the same time. Body:这部分是数据的比较，也是小作文中真正用到数据的地方。 几条铁律： 1. 不要猜测原因。雅思不论大小作文重要的是回答问题，题目里没问的就千万一句都不要题。很多同学在比较完数据后还喜欢猜测一下原因。这样就会因为离题而使分数大打折扣。2. 只有body有数据。很多同学喜欢在overview和intro里面提数据，这也是很大的忌讳，因为你会让考官完全不知道你在说什么 3. 有选择的写数据。我见过不少刚开始练习雅思写作的同学把所有数据都写进去，生怕遗漏一个数字。实际上，这也是不对的。因为雅思小作文要求你选择有特征的数据，如果全部写上去就没有任何意义了，更何况还浪费时间。
